Be the steady support that helps families feel safe again

When a woman and her children leave violence, they often leave with very little and they need support immediately. By giving monthly, you become a HUGS Supporter, a special community helping Northern Beaches Women’s Shelter provide safety, stability and long- term support for women and children escaping domestic and family violence and homelessness.

HUGS is our community of monthly givers providing steady support so women and children can access safety, care and practical help when they need it most.

Right now, only around 6% of NBWS funding comes from government — which means we rely on the community to help keep our doors open and our support services available when someone reaches out for safety.

Here’s what your monthly HUG can help provide

$25/month – Essentials & dignity

Toiletries, clothing basics, phone credit, transport support.

$50/month – A safer first week

Food and household essentials, pharmacy items, school basics for children.

$100/month – Specialist support

Trauma-informed case management support such as safety planning, referrals, advocacy and pathways to housing.

$250/month – Recovery and stability

Ongoing wraparound support helping women maintain safety and move toward independence.

$500/month – Keep doors open

Helps cover operational costs that keep our accommodation and support services running.
