Bassike presents NBWS Luncheon

This year, we’re delighted to welcome you to a beautiful new venue in Manly — Manly Wharf Events, the Freshwater Room, with sweeping views across the crystal-blue waters of Manly Cove and Sydney Harbour.
Deborah Sams and Bassike warmly invites you to join us for our eighth annual charity luncheon in support of the Northern Beaches Women’s Shelter.
This much-loved event brings our community together for a special afternoon of connection, generosity and purpose, while raising vital funds to support women and children experiencing homelessness and domestic and family violence.
NBWS ‘From Darkness to Dignity’ Annual Gala Ball

Time: 6:30pm – 11:30pm
The NBWS 2026 Gala, From Darkness to Dignity, was a special evening celebrating 16 years of Northern Beaches Women’s Shelter and the more than 823 women and children who have found safety, support and a fresh start through our service.
More than a beautiful night out, the Gala was one of our most important fundraising events of the year. Funds raised helped keep our doors open and critical services in place for women and children in crisis.

Inaugural Art with Heart
Date: Friday, 29th May 2026
Venue: Hake House, Northern Beaches
Cost: Entry by Donation
Art With Heart was a special community art exhibition and fundraiser, featuring works by local and established artists alongside artwork created by women supported through the NBWS Wellbeing Program. Guests enjoyed champagne on arrival, refreshments, and grazing boards while experiencing an inspiring evening of creativity, connection, and community.
The turnout was incredible, with more than 250 community members attending and over 45 artists contributing. Together, the event celebrated creativity with purpose and helped raise vital funds.

These events provide an important opportunity to connect with supporters, partners and the community, strengthen relationships and share the impact of NBWS.

The Northern Beaches Women’s Shelter (NBWS) Annual Charity Golf Day is a standout event on the community calendar — uniting business leaders, supporters, and golf enthusiasts for a day of networking, friendly competition, and meaningful impact. With a perfect blend of golf, entertainment, and fundraising, the day raises vital funds to support women and children in need across our community.

Our resources – human and otherwise – are extremely limited. We always warmly welcome and need our community to fundraise on our behalf.
Running an independent fundraising event at which NBWS is the ‘Charity of Choice’ is a very popular and straightforward vehicle for our supporters.
All you need is a great idea and passion for our cause. Plan a fundraising event with friends, community group, sporting club or work colleagues – big or small.
It is often best to plan an activity that you enjoy or are already undertaking on a regular basis.
Fundraising ideas include:
- Long lunches
- Raffles
- Fun runs
- Ocean swims
- Bake sales
- Golf days
- Afternoon teas
- Market stalls
- Literary High Teas
