This type of position suits the volunteer who can make a 12-month commitment and work on a rostered basis for 4-hours per week during office hours.
For this position, we offer orientation, formal training and induction, with ongoing support and supervision. There are two volunteer intakes per annum.
The tasks cover a variety of areas:
Office Administration
Providing general administrative support, including logging telephone enquiries, filing and note taking. Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and database experience is helpful.
House Operations
Contribute by identifying issues in the Shelter that need attention. Undertake weekly stock audits of household and office supplies. Manage regular bi-weekly Oz Harvest food deliveries and packing. Sort existing material donations currently stored onsite. Organise trades and services as needed at the Shelter.
